For many years I have had the privilege of helping children and young people develop confidence in maths and discover that they are capable of far more than they believe. One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is seeing the moment when something suddenly makes sense. A child who arrived convinced they “just can’t do maths” begins tackling homework with more confidence, contributing more in class and approaching tests with less anxiety.
Every child learns differently, which is why I take time to understand each student as an individual. Whether they need extra support, greater challenge or simply someone to explain things in a different way, my aim is always to help them feel more confident, more capable and ready to achieve their full potential.

Some children come to me because they are finding maths difficult. They may have fallen behind, lost confidence or simply need someone to explain things in a way that makes sense to them.
Working one to one allows lessons to move at the student’s pace. We can revisit topics as often as necessary, ask plenty of questions and celebrate every success along the way. As confidence grows, so does a child’s willingness to tackle new challenges, and that confidence often carries back into the classroom.

Tutoring is not just for children who are struggling. Many of my students already enjoy maths and are aiming for the highest SATs results or GCSE grades. In larger classes, teaching is naturally pitched towards the middle of the group, meaning more able students are not always challenged as much as they could be.

Every child learns in their own way, and that is particularly true for neurodivergent students. I have experience supporting children with a range of different learning needs and understand that there is no single approach that works for everyone. Lessons are adapted to suit each individual, creating a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable, understood and able to make progress at a pace that works for them.
Every child has different strengths, different challenges and different goals. My role is to understand each student as an individual and tailor every lesson to help them achieve their own potential.

A Personal Approach
No two lessons are ever the same because no two students are the same.
If a test or exam is approaching, we will focus on that. If maths homework has become a struggle, we will work through it together. If a topic covered at school is not making sense, we will look at it from a different angle until it clicks.
Learning does not stop when the lesson ends. Students are welcome to contact me between lessons if they need help with homework, have a question about something they have covered at school or simply need a little reassurance. Parents often tell me this extra support is one of the things they value most.
Above all, I genuinely care about every student I teach. Watching a child grow in confidence, begin to enjoy maths and achieve results they never thought possible is the most rewarding part of what I do.

Tuition Throughout the School Holidays
Learning does not have to stop when school breaks up for the holidays.
Educational research has consistently shown that long breaks from learning can affect academic progress, particularly in maths, where regular practice is so important. Continuing with tuition during the holidays helps students keep their skills fresh, maintain confidence and return to school confident, prepared and ready to make further progress.
For some students, the school holidays are the perfect opportunity to catch up on topics they have found difficult during the year. For others, it is a chance to get ahead by introducing new concepts before they are covered in the classroom.Tuition in school holidays is critical for those joining Year 11 in September, to prepare for mocks around Christmas time and GCSEs in May/June. Without the pressures of homework and a busy school timetable, lessons can be more relaxed while still being highly productive.
I continue to tutor throughout the school holidays, including the summer break, helping students maintain momentum, strengthen their understanding and start each new term feeling confident, well prepared and ready to succeed.
